I loved reading this devotional daily. I found it easy to keep up with and easy to understand. Jennifer Smith was able to articulate seemingly hard concepts in a simple, non-confusing way. Needless to say, I learned a lot! She combined scripture reading, devotional reading, prayer, active challenges and journal writing, all-together, into an encouraging interactive experience. I highly recommend this for Christian wives who want encouragement and knowledge in their ministry role of being a wife.

This is an excellent resource for Christian wives. It's very well-written - offering kindness, encouragement and challenge to the wife who wants to walk closer with her God and with her husband. Each chapter is relatively short, but packed with a solid teaching, including a lovely prayer and good questions to consider. This is an excellent resource for Christian wives. This is the first devotional that I've actually finished. I bought this book thinking that I could get some tips about being a better wife in my relationship but I got so much more out of it than that. I credit this book with helping me get on track with my relationship with God and my husband. I cannot recommend this book enough. Day 13 was the one that really hit home with me. This is a great devotional, especially for new wives! I thought it would be helpful to list "pros & cons" based on my experience.
Pros:
1. I liked that each day was short and sweet. The author referenced Scripture and then went right into application.
2. It was an easy read, not requiring too much deep theological thinking. Very practical.
3. The format was good; I liked the prayer, challenges, and questions.
Cons:

Cons:
1. I think I would have appreciated it more if she had started with one or two Scripture references and then added "for further study" or something like that. Sometimes there might be four or five passages to read. GOOD that she based the study on Scripture, but I thought it would have been more effective to focus on one or two.
2. This is probably being picky, but I found several typos throughout the book. Overall, I would recommend this book. It is not for you if you are looking for in depth theology, but it is great if you want general encouragement about being a Godly wife. I really love the author's blog and think she is doing a great ministry!
...more Practical and easy to read, but not super in-depth (I think I was expecting more). It is set up devotional style, with a topic, Scripture to read, short devotional, questions to consider, and a prayer. There were a few editing issues in the book and I have to admit I was annoyed by the status update at the end of each chapter. To me that sort of negated the fact that you are praying and journaling over your marriage, but quick - update your status. A bit of a mood breaker, if you will.

This book really challenges you as a wife. It asks to you rethink those things that you have built up and to tear them down. It asks you to be authentic, not just with your husband but with God. I have not only through this study reflected on my marriage, but with my relationship with God.

Excellent! What a great gift for someone about to be married or any married lady! Highly recommend!
I greatly enjoyed going through this devotional this month! It was such a blessing to start each day off with my softened heart towards my husband. I enjoyed each challenge that came at the end of each chapter as well. Definitely recommend you check it out. It never hurts to work towards a better God centered marriage no matter where you are in your marriage journey!

Very thankful for this book. It has become a staple in my life that I know I will continue to use (likely for a lifetime). Married ladies, do yourself a favor and get yourself a copy. If you have a friend getting married, it beats all other gifts... get her a copy.
Following the advice of Jennifer Smith, the author, I wrote down the focus verse of the day, what God is teaching me, prayer and answers to questions. Some days have challenges included in them. There are times I feel the questions were too many, usually three, and too difficult. Maybe I feel like I'm taking an exam, or maybe these questions dig into issues I have trouble facing. It's good to have my heart examined, right? Maybe it's just me, hehe! These are the things I like about Wife After God

-It is based on the Bible. The messages and thoughts were written according to the focus verses. This is very important because God's Word is the truth. This devotional aids in the practical application of Scripture.
-It assures me of God's love for me. He is faithful even if I make mistakes and hurt my husband, intentionally or unintentionally. God forgives me and in turn, I model this forgiveness to my family.

This was a wonderful devotional. I would recommend to anyone; newlyweds, engaged women, and even those who have been married a long time. Short, simple devotions about being the wife God called you to be. What I liked best about these devotions was the questions at the end of each day that the author encouraged you to journal. Some of the questions were expected, but at least one each day got me thinking about changes of heart or improvements to my behavior I could/should make. If you are looking for something that doesn't take too much quiet time but will get you thinking throughout your day, this might be the perfect fit. Excellent. The online bible study is even better.
The content of this book was merely good, not great. The author had wonderful intentions but desperately needed an editor. I have little patience for platitudes and these were rife with grammatical errors. I really like this devotional. It helped me get to know myself and my husband a lot. It also showed me how important it is to put God at the center of my relationship. I highly recommend all couples to read it whether you are married or not. Also, I suggest using a journal and not writing directly in the book because I've gone back through out the years and re-read it and did the activities again. No matter how long you have been married or where you stand in your marriage this book is worth your time. Each day only takes about 15 min, everyone has 15 min available. You start each day by going directly to Gods word to see what he has to say first. Then you get a little encouragement to go along with it. Each day has a prayer for your husband that goes along with the scripture you read. If you want to go deeper there is a challenge and questions to answer each day.
Loved this! I loved this daily devotional and with the status updates I felt accountable. Not to mention my friends and family loved seeing them! Being only two years into my marriage, I felt this book was a good starting point on being a wife after God! I will probably revisit it as my marriage grows older!

Christian Living/Devotional; 1st book I have read by this author. Was looking for a prayer booster for the month of June and picked this up at our local Hobby Lobby. While the author is certainly Bible-based which I appreciated, it fell a bit flat for me (I apologize for this, but I frequently compared to The Power of a Praying Wife which I adore.) Decent look into Christian marriage. What really saved this for me are her prayers--they are powerful and I am keeping the book for these alone.
